Mynydd Twyn-glas in South Wales offers superb Bristol Channel views from its 472m summit. Pleasant track walking despite scrambler bikes.

Mynydd y Lan near Wattsville has limited parking but quick access. Mountain of the church offers minimal views but easy SOTA qualification on a good day.

Mynydd Rhiw on National Trust land sits above a 5,000-year-old Neolithic axe factory. Final summit of a wet four-hill day before Bardsey boat cancellation.

Carneddol is the Llyn’s most modest Marilyn but qualifies with 156m prominence. A quick pathless ascent over grassy farmland.

Carn Fadryn is the Llyn’s highest summit with a massive Iron Age hillfort and medieval castle ruins. A quick activation in the rain with four contacts.

Garn Boduan near Nefyn hosts a massive Iron Age hillfort with 170 hut circles. VHF contacts were limited, but HF saved the activation with EU contacts.

Moel y Golfa is a 403m volcanic summit with a remarkable Romani memorial. Short scramble required. Favourite of my five-summit day. Excellent views abound.

Long Mountain (Cefn Digoll) hosts an Iron Age hillfort where Henry Tudor gathered before Bosworth. Easy access, pretty woodland, S2S to Italy on 20m SSB.

Stingwern Hill is a quick 358m Marilyn near Manafon - R.S. Thomas country. A trivial grassy field walk to the trig. Quiet on VHF but efficient for bagging.
