Moel y Golfa is a 403m volcanic summit with a remarkable Romani memorial. Short scramble required. Favourite of my five-summit day. Excellent views abound.
Long Mountain (Cefn Digoll) hosts an Iron Age hillfort where Henry Tudor gathered before Bosworth. Easy access, pretty woodland, S2S to Italy on 20m SSB.
Stingwern Hill is a quick 358m Marilyn near Manafon - R.S. Thomas country. A trivial grassy field walk to the trig. Quiet on VHF but efficient for bagging.
Disgwylfa Fawr in the Pumlumon area offers remote Welsh hillwalking with Cambrian Mountain views. Steep ascent, cairn summit. VHF activation with handheld.
Gwaunceste Hill in Radnor Forest offers quiet walking in Mid Wales. Northern approach via bridleway to the trig point. Cold winter activation on 2m FM.
