Freeholds Top in the Southern Pennines is a boggy Marilyn above Rossendale. An easy track to the trig point and pond. A muddy but rewarding short walk.
Moncreiffe Hill near Perth has Iron Age hillforts and fine views. I climbed through Woodland Trust trails from Rhynd Road. A convenient motorway break.
Rombalds Moor, better known as Ilkley Moor. Quick activation from the southern approach. HF proved stubborn but 2m FM delivered the contacts when needed.
Fountains Fell in the Yorkshire Dales, named after Fountains Abbey. Pleasant gravel tracks and grass to a spacious summit. Pairs well with Pen-y-ghent.
